"It is better for a man to be silent and be [a Christian], than to talk and not to be one. It is good to teach, if he who speaks also acts." - St. Ignatius of Antioch

Monday Musings - Are We Really Willing to Follow Him?
It is not easy to be a true follower of Jesus Christ:

Pondering Tidbits Of Truth - April 29, 2021
Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time.
St. Andre Bessett
“When you invoke St. Joseph, you don’t have to say much. Say, ‘If you were in my place St. Joseph, what would you do? Well, pray for this on my behalf.’ ”
(From https://holycrosscongregation.org/assets/406375/quotes_from_st._andr_bessette.pdf)
St. John Eudes
“Continual submission to the holy will of God is the most universal of all virtues. Its practice should be most familiar to you, since at every moment there arise opportunities of renouncing your own will and submitting to the will of God.”
(From A Year with the Saints: Daily Meditations with the Holy Ones of God By Paul Thigpen)
St. Therese of Lisieux
"Do you realize that Jesus is there in the tabernacle expressly for you - for you alone? He burns with the desire to come into your heart."
(From A Treasury of Quotations on the Spiritual Life from the Writings of St Francis de Sales by John McClernon)
Monday Musings - Don't Be A "My Way or Take The Highway" Type of Soul

If you are a 'my way or take the highway' type of soul (and so many of us are) who thinks you know better than God, you no doubt deal frequently with discouragement, especially when your plans go awry and when few choose to follow you.
You need an attitude adjustment - a total reorientation - a turning away from your plans and surrendering to God's. Let Venerable Bruno Lanteri show you the way.
The following quotation from Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement - The Wisdom and Spiritual Power of Venerable Bruno Lanteri, written by Father Timothy Gallagher, O.M.V., will give you a sense of the wisdom and clarity Lanteri has to offer each of us:
"God has placed me in this state of life; in this and no other. I must serve Him and be saved. All the circumstances and events in my state of life, such as the different characters of the persons with whom I will interact, the events that take place, the times and places in which these occur, reveal the order of Providence through which the Lord has willed to work my salvation. I must adapt myself to all these things and not think that I can force them to adapt themselves to me. And so, I will try always to adapt to these with peace and joy of heart, confident that God knows better than I what is best for me."
Let us pray for the grace to stop doing things our way!
