Harvesting The Fruits of Contemplation

What follows is a most beautiful and touching prayer, composed by a dear friend. I have shared this before. This is a prayer we should all offer. Heavenly Father, please open and enlighten the minds and hearts of all, to seek and accept Your mercy and love and end abortion on earth. Last October, this simple man's attempt to address the issue of dissident Catholic politicians receiving the Eucharist was, for the most part, ignored. Now that Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco has taken public action and defined the battle - the salvation of souls and the end to public scandal and sacrilege - I thought it appropriate to  try one more time. Our bishops must speak and act as one.  No Catholic figure who publicly opposes any of the immutable teachings of the Catholic Church (and most certainly that on abortion) may receive Holy Communion until they confess their sin in the sacrament of reconciliation and publicly repudiate their support for abortion. Nancy Pelosi is just one of far too many Catholic politicians who should be barred from the reception of Holy Communion. The Archbishop has spoken the Truth. There is not an alternative Truth or option for other bishops or priests to advance. There is no "pastoral" exception to God's Trut...

Jeremiah was one of the major Old Testament prophets. He was not too successful in changing hearts. but he certainly was faithful in his attempt to do so. Often referred to as “the weeping prophet” his own family turned against him. His countrymen rejected God’s warning which Jeremiah had received of their impending punishment for having turned their backs to God. Image Source: Wikimedia Commons ) Last Thursday, we read the following excerpt from the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah, written centuries before the birth of Jesus Christ. (Jer. 7:23-28). Not much attention was given the prophet’s message last week. Over the centuries, this message seems to have fallen on deaf ears and dead souls. Ponder what God told his prophet and what He wants us to hear anew: But this command I gave them, ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’ But they did not obey or incline their ear but walked...

 

You can not claim to love God and remain silent anymore. You must share this Truth, over and over:

While many lay Catholics, priests and bishops have remained silent during this election cycle, a few courageous souls have stepped forward and taught their family, friends, neighbors and/or flock the Truth - the Truth that binds every living human being. What is that Truth?  - that the most preeminent priority issue of our time is abortion - the willful and sinful killing of human life - made even more heinous by selling their dismembered body parts.
