A Painful and Upsetting Truth

Image
Let's be frank:   If we really believe that Jesus Christ is truly and  substantially present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the tabernacles of our Churches, we would be there with Him. We would do everything in our power to spend some time with Him and to encourage others to do so as well.  But we don't really believe this essential Truth. We have abandoned our Loving Lord to his prison-tabernacle and locked the doors of His Churches so that even the few drawn to be with Him are unable to get in. Stop for a moment and ponder this shocking reality from our Lord's perspective. Is this anyway to treat the Son of God? Of course it isn't. Go visit and comfort our abandoned and forgotten Lord . Bring  a copy of   Stirring Slumbering Souls - 250 Eucharistic Reflections  with you and let the wisdom it contains draw you into His loving embrace and Presence. Enlist in His army of Adorers. Let Him change you and the world! Here is a sample of what others have...

Eucharistic Reflection - The Contempt To Which He Exposes Himself

(Image Source: Wikimedia Commons ) "Before instituting this Sacrament of love, He knew very well to how much scorn and contempt He was exposing Himself. O my Savior, why not remain in heaven after your return there! There, at least, the Angels will love you with a pure and perfect love: but in the Eucharist, the Jews will pierce you again with nails, wicked Christians will receive you unworthily, some without contrition, others without the wish to correct themselves, others perhaps with crime in their hearts.  He knows it: but all that does not hinder His love. “O city of Sion, exclaims the Lord, by the mouth of the prophet Isaiah (xii, 6) cry out, thrill with joy, because your God dwells in the midst of you.” Jesus Christ has chosen for Himself the humiliations and at this price has assured to us forever the happiness and benefit of His presence."                    ...

Eucharistic Reflection - I Also Blush. Do You?

Image
By means of the angels, Jesus calls the poor and simple shepherds, in order to manifest Himself to them.  He calls the learned men by means of their science. And all of them, moved by His inner grace,   hasten to adore Him.  He calls all of us by divine inspiration, and   communicates with us by means of His grace. How many times has He invited us, too?                               And how readily have we responded?  My God, I blush and become embarrassed   when I have to answer such a question." (St. Pio of Pietrelcina)
