Pondering Tidbits of Truth - May 16, 2019

Image
Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time . Venerable Fulton J. Sheen "Every word that come to us about the uncomfortable, the homeless, the lepers, is the Son of God passing by. If we let Him pass by, He may never be recalled. Graces unused are not often repeated; whispers ignored do not become shouts. All through life, our hands will stretch forth empty of the richest blessings of wisdom and truth unless they are first used to clutch as the sleeve of the Divine 'who makes as if He would pass us by'." Eucharistic Reflection - His Voice Is Soft

Photo©Michael Seagriff "The Savior makes Himself heard only in hours of deep recollection, peace, and silence. His voice is soft, so soft that in the soul all must be hushed; it is a melodious voice, while that of the devil is noisy, abrupt, and discordant, and his words are uttered in the midst of agitation and tumult." Pondering Tidbits of Truth - February 26, 2015

Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time. St. Teresa of Avila “Oh, what a hard thing I am asking of you, my true God: that you should love one who does not love you;   that you should open the door to one who does not knock; that you should give health to one who prefers to be sick and chooses rather to walk in her infirmity! You say, my Lord, that you .have come to seek out sinners. These, my Lord are the true sinners. Do not look on our blindness, oh my God, but at the streams of blood that your Son shed for us. May your mercy shine on such grave wickedness; remember, Lord, that we were made by your hands.” (From Exclamations of the Soul to God )

Eucharistic Reflection – The August Prisoner

Image
"If souls understood what treasure they possess in the divine Eucharist, it would be necessary to protect tabernacles with impregnable ramparts; because, in the delirium of a holy and devouring hunger, they would go themselves to feed on the Manna of the Seraphim. Churches, at night as in daytime, would overflow with worshipers wasting away with love for the august prisoner."' (Blessed Dina Belanger as quoted by Father Florian Racini in Could You Not Watch With Me One Hour-How to Cultivate a Deeper Relationship with the Lord through Eucharistic Adoration )

Eucharistic Reflection

If souls but understood the Treasure they possess in the Divine Eucharist, it would be necessary to encircle the tabernacles with the strongest ramparts for, in the delirium of a devouring and holy hunger, they would press forward themselves to feed on the Bread of Angels. The Churches would overflow with adorers consumed with love for the Divine prisoner no less by night than by day. (Blessed Dina Belanger)
