Eucharistic Reflection - This Is What I Will Do Now

"…I filled Your soul in the Garden of Gethsemani with fear and sorrow even unto death; now I will comfort it and make it rejoice by fervent Holy Communion and loving visits to You in this Sacrament of Your love. I bound Your Body to a pillar and scourged it so unmercifully that Your Sacred Flesh was torn to fragments and Your Precious Blood flowed in streams to the ground; now I will receive that Divine Body devoutly and  often, and  each time  I will  solemnly promise never again to let my passions hurt You in any way…Yes, I condemned You to death. 0 dear Jesus, now I am going to visit You often in Your earthly dwelling place; here I am going to offer my life to You; here, with You and from You, I am going to seek the life of grace and the pledge of life ever- lasting…"

  1. I love the line "I am going to seek the life of grace..." because, really, that is the firmness of intention we need each day the sun comes up. We put 2 feet on the floor and begin to seek the life of grace: where will it take us? who will we encourage or bless? how will be put ourselves at His disposal to carry out the Father's will? He asked the people of Old: Choose you this day whom will you serve...? The question remains. The answer: "I am going to seek the life of grace!"

PRAYER TO BE PRESERVED FROM SUDDEN DEATH

MOST AMIABLE JESUS "I humbly implore Thee by Thy ignominious Scourging, The Crowning with Thorns, Thy Holy Cross, and by all Thy Goodness, not to permit me to pass out of this world without having received Thy most holy Sacraments." -Prayer of St. Vincent Ferrer

PRAYER OF ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA

"Eternal Father, all things are possible for You. Although You created us without our assistance, You will not save us unless we help. Therefore, I pray You re-create their wills so that they wish for what they do not wish for: I ask this of Your infinite mercy. You have created us out of nothing. Now that we exist have mercy on us. Re-make the vessel which You created in Your own image and likeness. Bring them back to Your grace through the grace and blood of You Son, the beloved Jesus Christ."
