Monday Musings (On Wednesday) - Part II - This Is A Time To Trust - Putting Fear Into Proper Perspective

(Photo by Aarón Blanco Tejedor on Unsplash)
As I noted in a prior post, there are at least 107 times in the New Testament that Jesus tells us ‘fear not,” or “do not fear,” or “do not be afraid.” Could He be any clearer? Everything that He allows to happen in our lives is for our eternal benefit. So why do we refuse to believe Him?

When we look at fear only through our earthly, human eyes, despair rushes to our side. However, if we look at fear from God's perspective, we find peace and resignation to whatever befalls us.

A recent column by Father Denis Lemieux of Madonna House published in the May-June 2020 issue of Restoration, entitled Do Not Be Afraid, is a must read for all souls during these challenging times. Father's post is the best I have read on this subject. It should be circulated far and wide.

You can read his column here. Let us pray for such faith! If you agree with my assessment, please pass this post on.

PRAYER TO BE PRESERVED FROM SUDDEN DEATH

MOST AMIABLE JESUS "I humbly implore Thee by Thy ignominious Scourging, The Crowning with Thorns, Thy Holy Cross, and by all Thy Goodness, not to permit me to pass out of this world without having received Thy most holy Sacraments." -Prayer of St. Vincent Ferrer

PRAYER OF ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA

"Eternal Father, all things are possible for You. Although You created us without our assistance, You will not save us unless we help. Therefore, I pray You re-create their wills so that they wish for what they do not wish for: I ask this of Your infinite mercy. You have created us out of nothing. Now that we exist have mercy on us. Re-make the vessel which You created in Your own image and likeness. Bring them back to Your grace through the grace and blood of You Son, the beloved Jesus Christ."
