Eucharistic Reflection - We Are Like Children

"We are like children who receive money from our mother to buy her a  a birthday present when she has a birthday. When the children come with their gift, the mother does not say: 'You ought to be ashamed of yourselves to come with a gift that I myself have paid for!' No, she acts as though it were from them. That is what God does with us. Everything we give Him we have received from Him. Nevertheless He acts as though everything came from us.

Our thanksgiving consists in that we give everything back to God...It is not because God is greedy and therefor wants everything back, but rather so that we should have the joy of giving."

" You must spend time in the Presence of God! When you go to church to spend time at Adoration, give your full attention to the Lord. Talk to Him just as if you were talking to a friend or relative. Know that He is there in front of you, waiting for you! All you need to do is to open your eyes and your hearts to God. Even though God knows everything that is in your heart, He wants you to share those thoughts with Him. He is waiting for you to ask Him to help you, your loved ones and others in need. Monday Musings - Suffer the Little Children (and Sinful Prisoners Too)

May these periodic postings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month (God willing) generate fruitful discussion and faithful change. I was prompted a few weeks back to go through and empty out my desk drawer. It had been far too long since I had de-cluttered it. I had forgotten the hidden treasures it contained. Then I saw them – about 15 of them. Suddenly, I realized how long it had been since I last went to prison.    Odd, isn’t it.
