After the gifts of God's forgiveness, love and mercy, we must treasure His Eucharistic Presence among us.
Through our faithful adoration and worthy reception of Holy Communion, He will transform us into Himself and use us to help Him transform the world.
When I was a little girl the nuns used to encourage us to stop into the church and "make a visit" to the Blessed Sacrament as often as we could. Today I never hear this recommended from any pulpit. Very sad. We laity are left to stumble around and, if we're lucky, find these kinds of recommendations at some lay person's blog. Not that finding it at a lay person's blog is wrong. It's the fact that we have to stumble around until we do that is the problem. Fortunately, Jesus promised us that if we ask, seek, and knock He'll answer us. Thank God for the internet and all the fearless faithful Catholic bloggers out there.
ReplyDeleteWhat is even sadder to me is the absolute and obstinate refusal of some of our priests to support such devotion - despite the fact they are required to do so. I am sure I will take flak for speaking this disturbing truth.
