Monday Musings - There Are Consequences For Rejecting The Truth

When we, individually or as a nation,  acquiesce to, or advocate conduct, which is always and under all circumstances intrinsically evil and which contradicts the clear commands of God, we are choosing an eternal path into Hell.

While it is not politically correct to say that or talk about Hell, we must do so out of love for our neighbor. There is a Hell of unending torment and suffering. It is real and eternal.

In America, we are free to reject that Truth. But we will not be exempted from the eternal consequences that follow from our disbelief.

Recently, during a debate on the Equality Act, Florida Congressman Greg Steube stood up and reminded his colleagues of these Truths: "The gender confusion that exists in our culture today is a clear rejection of God’s good design...Whenever a nation's laws no longer reflect the standards of God, that nation is in rebellion against him and will inevitably bear the consequences."

Congressman Gerald Nadler responded by stating "...what any religious tradition describes as God’s will is no concern of this Congress." Shockingly, but consistent with the culture of deceit and death that has permeated this nation for some time, a majority of the House of Representatives rejected God's Truth and sided with Nadler.

Accordingly, this is a perfect time for a little refresher course  for all of us on what souls who have rejected God's Truth during their earthly life (and who never repented and sought His forgiveness and mercy while able to do so) are likely to hear Him say to them as they stand before His throne of justice:

"Out of love for you I came down from Heaven, and out of love for you I endured the cruelties of death. And yet My love, so wondrous in its extent, awakened no response in your hearts, met with no love in return; on the contrary, you thrust Me away with contempt and hatred when I stood at the door of your heart as a suppliant, desirous of gaining admittance there. How often did I call you, and you would not listen to Me. I stretched out my hands to you, but you drew back from My embrace. I employed threats, I visited you with many a loving chastisement, but you would not bow your proud neck beneath My sweet yoke. You deliberately chose to serve the devil as your god, and therefore you shall share his lot now, and be with him in the abyss of damnation to all eternity."

Lord be merciful to us sinners!
