Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets
of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time.
[Jesus speaking] "Sometimes a clear eye is as quickly blinded by flour as by gray ashes. Could the presence of any human being be more harmless than My presence among by beloved disciples? There were no unnecessary words, no unrestrained gestures, no conversations which began with spiritual topics, and end in useless babbling. True earnestness and complete, absolute truth dominated all our intercourse. Yet, my bodily presence had to be withdrawn in order to prepare the disciples to receive the Spirit. How great an obstacle, therefore, can human presence be. Before men are led into themselves by one person, they are drawn outward by thousands; before they are once taught with doctrine, they are many times confused by bad example."

"I know that for the right practice of it [the presence of God] the heart must be empty of all other things, because God will possess the heart alone; and as He cannot possess it alone without empyting it of all besides, so neither can He act there, and do in it what He pleases, unless it be left vacant for Him."
