Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time.

St. John Paul II

"For me prayer is the first priority. Prayer is the basic prerequisite to service of the Church and the world...Every believer should always think of prayer as an essential  and indispensable component of one's vocation. It is the opus divinum which precedes and overshadows every work. We well know that faithfulness to prayer, or its neglect, is a test of the vitality of religious life, apostolate and Christian fidelity."

(From Address October 7, 1979)

St. Josemaria Escriva

"Be a Eucharistic soul! If the center around which your thoughts and hopes turn is the Tabernacle, then, my child, how abundant the fruits of your sanctity and apostolate will be!"

(From The Forge)

Satan to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska

"...a thousand souls do me less harm  than you do when you speak of the great mercy of the Almighty One. The greatest sinners regain confidence and return to God and I lose everything. But what is more, you persecute me personally with that unfathomable mercy of the Almighty God."

(From the Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska)

  1. It is a great comfort to know the misery we inflict on Satan when we speak of mercy. He desires our eternal death and deserves to be thwarted in every way. No matter how many souls he takes away from God, he will never be satisfied with their company. His rabid hatred should always be met with the crucifix, the sign of mercy.

  2. Well said Barbara. Tragic that so man no longer believe there is a Satan who wishes to destroy their souls. We can never share that truth too much.

PRAYER TO BE PRESERVED FROM SUDDEN DEATH

MOST AMIABLE JESUS "I humbly implore Thee by Thy ignominious Scourging, The Crowning with Thorns, Thy Holy Cross, and by all Thy Goodness, not to permit me to pass out of this world without having received Thy most holy Sacraments." -Prayer of St. Vincent Ferrer

PRAYER OF ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA

"Eternal Father, all things are possible for You. Although You created us without our assistance, You will not save us unless we help. Therefore, I pray You re-create their wills so that they wish for what they do not wish for: I ask this of Your infinite mercy. You have created us out of nothing. Now that we exist have mercy on us. Re-make the vessel which You created in Your own image and likeness. Bring them back to Your grace through the grace and blood of You Son, the beloved Jesus Christ."
