Pope Francis and Eucharistic Adoration

Have not yet seen the following excerpt get much play or discussion. Have you?

From the recent interview of our Holy Father, we learn that, he, like his predecessors, John Paul II and Benedict XVI, makes a holy hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament every evening.

Certainly, if our Holy Father makes Eucharistic Adoration a priority of his daily life, we, if we really wanted to, can and should find one hour each week to do likewise.

Why the on-going reluctance to promote this most vital devotion - one that Our Lord Himself has asked us to do?

  1. Every life story I've read of great priests has this in common: they spent one hour in Adoration every single day. Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, Father John Hardon,SJ, the Popes from the past several hundred years, the great missionaries. Priests, get away from your TVs and in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Then you will be credible when calling your parishioners to do the same.

  2. You are absolutely correct Barb. That is why we must encourage and pray that our priests will come to treasure Adoration as did their saintly brothers. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

PRAYER TO BE PRESERVED FROM SUDDEN DEATH

MOST AMIABLE JESUS "I humbly implore Thee by Thy ignominious Scourging, The Crowning with Thorns, Thy Holy Cross, and by all Thy Goodness, not to permit me to pass out of this world without having received Thy most holy Sacraments." -Prayer of St. Vincent Ferrer

PRAYER OF ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA

"Eternal Father, all things are possible for You. Although You created us without our assistance, You will not save us unless we help. Therefore, I pray You re-create their wills so that they wish for what they do not wish for: I ask this of Your infinite mercy. You have created us out of nothing. Now that we exist have mercy on us. Re-make the vessel which You created in Your own image and likeness. Bring them back to Your grace through the grace and blood of You Son, the beloved Jesus Christ."
