Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time.
Venerable Louis of Granada, O.P.
"Another thought which should here impress us is that God has given us two eyes, two ears, two hands, and two feet, so that if we lose one of these members we still have one left. But He has given us only one soul, and if we lose that we have no other with which to enjoy eternal happiness. Our first care, therefore, should be to save our soul which is to share with the body either eternal happiness or eternal woe."
(From The Sinner's Guide)
Venerable Fulton J. Sheen
"Because the rosary is both a mental and vocal prayer, it is one where intellectual elephants may bathe, and the simple birds may also sip."
(From Champions of the Rosary by Father Donald H. Calloway, MIC)
Elizabeth Kindelmann
"Afterwards, I began to clean behind the altar, where there was a thick layer of dust. The Lord spoke: 'Many souls are like this altar, allowing dust to gather for years. These souls are gray and dusty. By their bad example, many, many souls are soiled. They do not realize this, and they avoid what is difficult.
These souls know much, but they do not experience Me. They give Me only the crumbs, what they do not need. Yet, they think they deserve a reward. These souls enjoy My kindness but never think of what they should do in return. This is the pain in My soul.
I complain to you because a shared sorrow is half a sorrow. Whoever is covered with dust does not have the light. Let us pray for these dusty souls'."
