Eucharistic Reflection - Every Day We Crucifiy Him

“Do any of us suffer as much as our dear Lord, who suffers shame and injury every day? If He were now able to suffer as He once was, He would suffer more now than He did when He was put to death. Countless times every day He is crucified again, by the horrible oaths that are sworn upon His death and His wounds, by the mortal sins which daily renew His Passion, reopen His wounds, and make His Precious Blood flow again.

What shameful things are inflicted on Him every day when His pure, precious, divine body is received into so many foul, stinking, devilish vessels? We are those vessels, made for Him, and we knowingly fill them with created things. If He were still capable of feeling the torments He knew on earth, it would hurt Him more to be received by such men than it once hurt to be received by Judas; for they have the faith. They know that He is their God and their Creator, which Judas did not. If those who love God could feel in their bodies the pain which they feel in their hearts for love of Him, it would half-kill them, heart and soul and body. They would gladly die to put an end to that state of affairs. Life means nothing to them while their dear God is receiving such injuries and dishonor."

PRAYER TO BE PRESERVED FROM SUDDEN DEATH

MOST AMIABLE JESUS "I humbly implore Thee by Thy ignominious Scourging, The Crowning with Thorns, Thy Holy Cross, and by all Thy Goodness, not to permit me to pass out of this world without having received Thy most holy Sacraments." -Prayer of St. Vincent Ferrer

PRAYER OF ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA

"Eternal Father, all things are possible for You. Although You created us without our assistance, You will not save us unless we help. Therefore, I pray You re-create their wills so that they wish for what they do not wish for: I ask this of Your infinite mercy. You have created us out of nothing. Now that we exist have mercy on us. Re-make the vessel which You created in Your own image and likeness. Bring them back to Your grace through the grace and blood of You Son, the beloved Jesus Christ."
