Good Friday Reflection
This is not just another Friday. This is Good Friday. Will that fact make any difference in the way we live this day? For far too many of us, today will likely pass much like any other Friday - a mad rush to get to the weekend with little thought of He Who made us and whose sacrificial and brutal death redeemed us. Where is our gratitude? Unforgettable (Source: Wikimedia Commons ) This the day so long foretold This the day of justice lacking This the day of man’s ingratitude This the day of cowardice and fear
I am so glad you asked that question. So often I read and hear similar accusations against the Jews, without realizing Christians are in a similar danger. St. Paul talks about that as well in his letter to the Romans (chapter 11 specifically).
ReplyDeleteA very good personal question. If only we would each as individuals really let it sink in, that very almost incomprehensible love God has for us. God desires to give Himself to us at the personal level and we are forever saying, "No thanks."
