Good Friday Reflection
This is not just another Friday. This is Good Friday. Will that fact make any difference in the way we live this day? For far too many of us, today will likely pass much like any other Friday - a mad rush to get to the weekend with little thought of He Who made us and whose sacrificial and brutal death redeemed us. Where is our gratitude? Unforgettable (Source: Wikimedia Commons ) This the day so long foretold This the day of justice lacking This the day of man’s ingratitude This the day of cowardice and fear
This reminds me of a couple of my nursing home residents a while back. The wife had Alzheimer's and was pretty much mentally gone, but physically she could do anything. The husband was completely mentally there but he was wheelchair bound because of a stroke. They worked together however and together made for a fairly independent nursing home couple. He'd tell her what to do, breaking it down into small steps and being patient with her if she didn't do things quite right. She'd push him to and from the dining room and do what she could to help him. It was a beautiful sight.

ReplyDeleteI do not think you could have composed a more powerful written description of the value and dignity of human life.
Thanks for sharing and taking the time to comment.
