Eucharistic Reflection - He Could Have, But He Did Not

Image
"Jesus could have limited His presence only to the celebration of Mass, but no! He wanted to make a permanent dwelling among us. Night and day He awaits us and offers Himself to us at all times. Like a most tender mother, He opens His arms to us. He is there generously to give us His gifts. He is there to draw us to Him and lead us to paradise with Him. Oh! Let us go visit Him often." (St. John Bosco)

Eucharistic Reflection - What More Do You Want?

Image
(Image Source: Wikimedia Commons ) "I am surprised that after having received my God - all that He is in Himself - so many times, we ask for something more. What more do you want? In giving Himself to you, He gives you everything without any reservation. By receiving Him in Holy Communion, you receive the Father and the Holy Spirit, that is de fide . You receive His power and all His divine perfections. Ah! Do not ask for anything else! 'Too greedy is the one,' says a great soul, 'for whom God is not enough'." (Mother Mectilde of the Blessed Sacrament from The Mystery of Incomprehensible Love )

Eucharistic Reflection - There Is No Need To Leave

Image
Lord Jesus, You are in the Holy Eucharist. You are there a yard away in the tabernacle. Your body, Your soul, Your human nature, Your divinity, Your whole being is there in its twofold nature. How close you are my God, my Savior, my Jesus, my Brother, my Spouse, my Beloved. You were not nearer to the Blessed Virgin during the nine months she carried You in her womb than You are to me when you rest on my tongue at Holy Communion. You were no closer to the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph in the caves at Bethlehem or the house at Nazareth or during the flight into Egypt or at any moment of that divine family life than You are to me at this moment -and so many others – in the tabernacle. St. Mary Magdalene was no closer to You when she sat at your feet at Bethany than I am here at the foot of this altar. You were no nearer to your apostles when You were sitting in the midst of them than You are to me now, my God. How blessed I am. It is wonderful, my Lord, to be alone in my cell and conver...

Eucharistic Reflection - We Are Never Alone

Image
“Life’s difficulties can in the end yield for us great good. We are never alone in even the most overwhelming circumstances. Just as we appreciate the company of a friend when things are going badly, so should we be grateful for the company of our Friend in the nearest Tabernacle. We should go to Him for consolation, peace and strength. "   (Father Francis Fernandez from In Conversation With God )

Pondering Tidbits of Truth - October 29, 2020

Image
Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time.         Archbishop Joseph Raya “Faith doesn’t mean you can’t panic. Mary and Joseph almost certainly panicked when they lost Jesus in the temple. What it means is that you keep on going even if you do panic. You just do whatever is right in front of you, and keep on going, in faith that it will all work out.”   (From July-August 2020 issue of RESTORATION published by Madonna House)     Dan Burke “No matter how [spiritual] consolation specifically surfaces within us, if it is authentic, it will always draw us to submit to the magisterium of the Church and to God’s will and ways. It is really no more complicated than that. The challenge is that if we are not well catechized – and most of us are not – we may not understand or even notice when we are led astray. By God’s grace we have a catechism that ...
