What Are We Catholics Thinking?

Image
Father Florian Racine minced no words in his book, Could You Not Watch With Me One Hour? when he wrote: "...to the Real Presence of Jesus, we often respond with our total absence!" Father is not alone in encouraging Catholics to end their neglect of our Eucharistic Lord. I have complied more than 250 quotations from across the centuries (many from our Lord Himself) begging us to visit, adore and spend time with Him. He is imprisoned and hidden in His Churches behind locked tabernacle doors where for all practical purposes He is abandoned and ignored.   He is waiting for the gift of your presence: Here is what my big sister, Patricia Grant, had to say: "I'm still reading Slumbering Souls and wanted to thank you for re-awaking my adoration and love of Jesus."  What do you think of opinion  offered by my fellow adorer and friend, Christine M. Arabik, M.S.: Stirring Slumbering Souls is a beautiful anthology from saints, mystics and fri...

Pondering Tidbits of Truth - May 10, 2018

Image
(Photo©Michael Seagriff) Pondering Tidbits of Truth is my simple and inadequate way of providing nuggets of spiritual wisdom for you to chew on from time to time . Jeffrey Kuhner "Tens of millions of unborn babies have been slaughtered; illegitimacy rates have soared; divorce has skyrocketed; pornography is rampant; drug use has exploded; sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS have killed millions; birth control is a way of life; sex outside of wedlock has become the norm; countless children have been permanently damaged - their innocence lost forever - because of the proliferation of broken homes; and sodomy and homosexuality are celebrated openly. America has become the new Babylon." (From Washington Times )

(Originally posted October 31, 2016) Sin is serious business. It has eternal consequences. Look what sin did to our Lord! We Catholics must speak up in one clear and unambiguous voice against the evil that is rampant in our world.    We must have the courage to call sin, sin and to counsel the sinner.  We must do everything possible to save souls, ours and the souls of those we know and love.  We must make reparation for our sins and those of the whole world. We must be willing to preach the Truth and to suf...

Eucharistic Reflection - Searching For Something Different

Image
(Image Source: Wikimedia Commons ) "When the Eucharist is powerful in our lives (as in Eucharistic Adoration) – where Jesus Christ's love is poured out and our lives our changed – that inner journey is different. What we're searching for is different, because the Eucharist fulfills those hungers, because Jesus Christ is here as a person, truly in love with each one of us, in all of our joys and all of our sorrows and wants to be part of your life and mine – the inner journey." Bishop John M. Quinn

T hank you, Allison Gingras at  Reconciled To You   and Elizabeth Riordan at  Theology Is A Verb for  hosting Catholic bloggers at  Worth   Revisiting .   It is a privilege for us to share our work with you and your readers each week.  Stop by for a visit now .    I wanted to share the following post:   This Is One Forgotten Truth We Must Rediscover!  (Originally published August 17, 2015) No surprise - our world is in utter chaos and confusion.  Conduct that has always been deemed morally wrong is now proclaimed right and woe to those who have the audacity to disagree.  (Image Source: Wikimedia Commons ) More tears and public angst fill our airwaves and cyberspace over an American dentist who killed a lion in a wild life preserve, whales that beach themselves on our shores, or the callous destruction of baby swan eggs than the brutal dismemberment and murder of human...
