Now Is Not The Time To Remain Silent - Part II

One way of letting all prayer warriors know what happened at Star of the Sea Church in San Francisco last Saturday (see my earlier post) is to share some of the photographs taken by Darwin Sayo, who has graciously consented to our using them:

Oh, the power of prayer! One of the event's promoters filed this report:

“Star of the Sea Parish and Fathers Joseph Illo and Patrick Driscoll graciously allowed Catholics to ‘mob’ their Church at their April 25th Vigil Mass to show their support for these wonderful priests and their parish and to pray for unity for the parish, school and diocese. Their cantor was accompanied by the St. Joseph’s Children Choir, who were thrilled to be able to sing for this beautiful Mass. There was an estimated 500-600 in attendance to pray for the end of strife in the San Francisco Archdiocese. Father Illo in his homily on the Good shepherd asked the faithful not to pray for an easier road for their priests but for their priests to become stronger.”

The next show of support will be for Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone at the Archbishop Cordileone Show of Support Day on  Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11AM at the Sue Bierman Park Those planning to attend are urged to wear blue to show their support. The details of the day's events, including a link where you can sign a statement in support of the good Archbishop can be found at San Francisco Catholics.

Please continue your prayerful support for these priests, this parish, Archbishop Cordelione and all the Catholics in the Archdiocese of San Francisco! Keep storming heaven on their behalf.

  1. When our priests and bishops uphold the Catholic faith, the laity should be there to support and commend them. That's the unity the Catholic Church in action. Thanks for highlighting these causes!

  2. Thank you Stephanie. I don't think we realize how much our priests need and appreciate our support.

  3. It would be wonderful if there were thousands there in support of the Archbishop. That would dwarf the measly 100 Catholics-in-Name-Only who signed the newspaper ad asking Pope Francis to remove Cordileone. Someone should take a lot of pictures and make a video to post to YouTube. The media will lie.

    1. Yes Barb. Let us all pray for a good turnout and for the videos you have suggested. When our Bishops and priests realize that we appreciate and love them for teaching and defending the Truth, more will be willing to follow the example of this Archbishop and of his two faithful priests. We owe a great deal of gratitude to the lay Catholics who have initiated and organzied these events.God bless.
